Biography

A native New Englander, I grew up in Lexington, MA. I’ve just about lost my accent (so I’m I told)! I moved to the DC area years ago to do my training at George Washington. After a brief stint in Buffalo, my husband and I decided to return to Northern Virginia where we both practice.

I met my husband Gordon in the med school library at GW. We have been married for 26 years and have two great daughters. Both are graduates of Langley HS—one is a lawyer and the other is in graduate school in Paris.

All of my free time for many years has been spent being a Soccer Mom…. both my girls have played high-level competitive soccer. I have been the team manager for many years, but as an empty nester, I’ll be spending more time exercising, gardening, cooking, sewing and collecting antique quilts.

I joined this practice in 1997: deciding to focus solely on women’s health and gynecology. Practicing both obstetrics and gynecology had too many distractions for me and I am better able to dedicate myself to my patients. I love nothing more than listening and talking to my patients.

Clinically, I really enjoy taking care of adolescents as well as menopausal women. I also have an interest in the gynecological needs of breast cancer patients. Other areas of expertise include contraception, abnormal pap smears, fibroids, endometriosis, and surgery.
